Before I start the review, I just want to comment and express my sadness at the shootings today at Sandy Hook. There are some really sick people in this world, and it is sad that they have to do things like this just to get the attention they desperately crave. My condolences to the families who are suffering.
Anyways, back to the review.
Party of Sin is a really good game. Yup. I gave you the ending first. I really enjoyed this title. Think Braid, but with the seven deadly sins as characters. If you do not know what the seven deadly sins are, they are: wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony.
Each sin is represented by a character, with different abilities. You can either play single player, and use them by yourself, or team up with up to 4 players. I highly suggest co-op, because it just adds such a feeling of…what is this…fun…in a video game? What is this madness?
My personal favorite sin is wrath in this game. He just beats stuff up, and goes berserk, and then continues to beat stuff up. He also kicks his foes that brings them to areas you would not have been able to reach before. Each character has it’s own unique powers, that only they can do. Using all seven is vital to find everything the game can offer.
My favorite part about this game is by far the soundtrack, with the exception of Lust. That one just sounds like a very cheese porn. The rest of the soundtrack is amazing. Dark, moody, atmospheric. Helps you stay in the game. Gives you a sense of danger in some spots, that helps you get more engrossed in the game. Visually it is….okay. To me, it just seems quite blocky, and not very polished. However, when you consider the price they are asking for the game, it is more than adequate.
You also fight bosses, and I will only say that you will enjoy fighting them. No spoilers here.
In closing, and in keeping this spoiler free, I will just say this. If you are into these type of games with a interesting and dark story, pick this title up. It is now available on PC through steam and offers 6-8 hours of gameplay through 4 worlds and 20 levels, for 15 dollars.
