A great group of games hits the app store this week, blending a little something from every genre. Enjoyment doesn’t come cheap this week with three of the six games on this list strapped with a price-tag that many app store shoppers generally frown upon. Regardless, there’s still something out there worthy of your money.
Super Lemonade Factory
I’m a sucker for retro-stylings, and because of that SLF is automatically in my good graces. This 2D puzzle-platformer has a neat mechanic where you control two characters to traverse its levels. If its puzzles can stay interesting it will end up a favorite in my book. Review coming!
MotoHeroz
When the guys behind Trials HD release something on the app store I pay attention. Originally a Wii-ware release I didn’t play, I can’t help but to be excited about this jam. However, I fear for its controls to be completely honest.
Kung Fu Rabbit
A Super Meat Boy-like game that’s right up my alley. It’s also about a rabbit that trains in Kung-fu, and that’s as charming as the game’s aesthetics. I’ll put some time into this, for sure.
DoDonPachi Resurrection HD
Last years DoDonPachi release on iOS finally gets some HD love. Looks like some good effort was put into this face-lift, not forgetting the game itself is a great Shmup.
Chaos Rings II
Square-Enix drops a sequel to an app store RPG that looks like it follows in traditional Squaresoft foot-steps. JRPG fans have had plenty of games to play on their iOS devices, adding another to that collection. One things for sure, if you want a turn-based RPG that’s 40+ hours long you know who to turn to.
Battle Academy
PC and Mac owners have been enjoying Battle Academy’s strategies, and now it’s us iPad owners turn. This is a strategy game that’s to be taken seriously, and looks to please the core-fans of the genre.
If you’ve given some of these games a try, I’m sure most of the community would appreciate the opinions.
