Earlier today, 7sixty launched a website for its new game titled Phantom Breaker. It’s a 2D arcade fighting game originally developed and released in Japan by 5pb. The website will give details on each of the 14 characters and information on how to perform basic attacks like throws, specials, reflection, and nullifying attacks. Additionally, visitors to the site can also enter a contest to win a custom joystick and a copy of the game! Although the website and the press release do not mention a release date, if you check out the Amazon page for the game it states that it will be released on February 28,2012.

According to the site, the plot for Phantom Breakers is as follows:

A mysterious man named Phantom grants a select few the ability to use special powers in his own tournament of duelists. Duels take place in the shadows of Tokyo as combatants fight for a chance to have their wish granted, but does Phantom really have the power to grant a wish to the tournament’s winner? Does the promise of a wish only serve to mask his true motives?

Players will be able to choose from a range of fighters before deciding on a quick or hard fighting style. One favors super-fast combos, while the other focuses on defense. Players will be able to charge their over drive through attacks or blocks, and then unleash it to perform faster attacks or temporarily increase their defense.
