<!–Clearly not well versed in the art of anticipation, Codemasters has waited only a day to fully reveal the Dizzy project it teased on Monday. As expected, the beloved anthropomorphic egg is returning to video games. The 1991 title, Dizzy: Prince of the Yolkfolk, is getting the “HD” treatment on iPhone, iPad and Android starting December 9, cheekily dubbed “Egg-mergence Day” by Codemasters. The game is being developed by DNA Interactive with original project director Paul Ranson at the helm.
As we mentioned yesterday, Dizzy is something of a beloved character in the UK. To learn more about him, we turned to former Joystiq staffer Jem Alexander. According to Jem, Dizzy games are “hard adventure/platforming games” in which “you play an egg who has to solve item-based puzzles to rescue his friends (the yolkfolk).” He elaborated, “And the jumping mechanics were sort of tough so … they were very hard. You’d die a lot.” Fascinating!
