So this happens to be the first game I have ever been given to review, ive done a bit of reviewing here before on the daily gamepad, some old some new, but all games that I bought and that I choose to review. So upon being given a game to review I wont lie,, I was very excited,, “Woohoo Free game!!” So danvandam gave me the code and i let it down load the 600 odd meg it needed and went to bed. The next morning I got up and made myself a coffee and sat down and went, “Ok charlie, this will be exciting but you need to remember to have an open mind and to remember that your doing a review, not just playing it.”
Right so i clicked on the game, and off we went.

So before we begin let me give you some back story, Worms has a long history, from the original on the Amiga 500, to an excellent version on the dreamcast, to the 3d version on the xbox, to even a re release on the psn. The concept of worms is solid and will always find new fans as its a game that not only involves combat but thinking Overall the concept was good, and it was an enjoyable, might i say “Cute” game to play that was lots of fun to play alone, but even better when playing against a friend.

So having said that i enjoyed the original worms game a lot sO I was curious to see what worms crazy golf had in store.. The game loaded and it looked just like a normal worms game, Upon chooseing your course between the pirate ship or britianna, your presented with the layout of the hole, Now i haddent seen any screen shots of the game before, so I was quite impressed how it captured the spirit of the original worms games.
So your object like any other golf game is to get the ball in the hole with the least amount of shots, but what makes this different, is not only the 2d presentation but also all the extra stuff. Like for instance the coin collection and breaking the crates, I mean getting a par or anything better will unlock the next hole, but to really master the game you need to try and get all the coins and break those creates. On the first 9 holes its pretty easy but as it progresses the game adds lots of clever obsticals, My favourite being the cannon, if you aim your ball into the end of the cannon it can shoot it out with great fury, some of the others I like is when you shoot the ball into a castle and it will teleport the ball over to another castle elsewhere on the corse and spit it out, threre’s also magnets that have switches and in order to get the ball into the hole you will need to deactivate the magnets and how can I forget the groundskeepers, who are often lined up in perfect position for when you have overshot your mark, when you hit the groundskeepers they get all mad and decide to blow them selves up similar to how the worms blow up in the original worms game leaving a hole below them.
The game plays out like a mixture of golf and to an extent angry birds.

So what do I think of worms crazy golf? At first when i started playing it i found it a tad disappointing, but after keeping at it, about half an hour I was up to the more interesting holes and starting to have a real good time with the game, with all the game throws at you it certinly is crazy, released as a sequal to the original worms golf that was on mobile phones back in 2004 seriously, I think thats where it should stay, a game like this would make an excellent app on the ipad or something along those lines, a game that can be loaded quickly and played in shirt bursts.
But when compared to other pc games it seems to fall short of the many other titles available on Steam. Although the price is good, at only 8 Aussie bucks, I still would rather put that money towards a game similar to this on the ipad.
So how do i rate it?.. Well for me I like it but I think the original worms games have it over worms crazy golf,,  So given the choice yes this would make a great ipad app, not really iphone as the screen would be a bit small in my opinion, but I would take Worms Armageddon or worms 3d over this game anyday. Its nice to see team 17 still at it though. After all these years, but maybe they might want to get back to making worms 3d 2? I don’t know but worms 3d was my personal favourite worms and I would love to see it remastered for the ps3 and xbox360.
