Is Super Mario 3D Land the most original game in the Mario pantheon? Not in the least. But is it crazy fun? So far, absolutely. In fact, all the things it pulls from its predecessors may just be what we like the most about it. As you can see in the video below, a big part of Super Mario 3D Land’s appeal is all the little bits and pieces that call back to previous chapters of the series.
