When the PSP launched way back in the dim and distant year of 2005, its standout title was definitely Q? Entertainment’s Lumines. A seemingly simple descendent of Tetris, the incredibly stylish integration of high-tech graphics and perfectly mixed music offered a portable experience like none before it. “This is PSP,” it said. “This is a game system that marries cool audio and video and gameplay in a new and exciting way.” The upcoming version of Lumines for PlayStation Vita looks as good as ever, but for my money the game most likely to define the new Sony platform the way Lumines did for PSP six years ago is Sound Shapes.
