New release slate led by 3D remake of Zelda game, horror-themed shooter, Square Enix’s action RPG; Shadows of the Damned, Cars 2: The Video Game also out.

It’s a busy week at retail, as several high-profile new releases hit the market this week, including a 3D remake of The Ocarina of Time, the third F.E.A.R. game, and Square Enix’s latest action role-playing game.

First out of the gate this week is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D for the 3DS. A remake of the critically adored Nintendo 64 role-playing game, Ocarina of Time for Nintendo’s newest portable will leverage the system’s dual screens, touch functionality, and 3D support.

Also out this week is F.E.A.R. 3 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game is the third full-fledged installment in the first-person shooter series, which began in 2005. The forthcoming game will continue the franchise’s storyline but will add an all-new divergent co-op mode that will let players assume the role of one of two characters. Players can step into the shoes of Point Man, the genetically engineered supersoldier who appeared in the first F.E.A.R. or his brother, Paxton Fettel, who has telekinetic powers.

Gamers looking to play Obsidian Entertainment’s latest game can grab Dungeon Siege III this Tuesday for the Xbox 360, PC, and PS3. The game is again set in the kingdom of Ehb, where the balance of power between rival factions has fallen apart. Players will take on the role of a member of the disgraced protectors of the land, known as the 10th Legion. With the kingdom tearing itself apart, the Legion is tasked with rebuilding its numbers and restoring peace.

In April, publisher Electronic Arts delayed Grasshopper’s horror action game Shadows of the Damned to June 21. The game tells the story of Garcia Hotspur, who goes on a trip to hell to save his true love, Paula. His travelling companion on the long, hard road through hell is a foul-mouthed demonic skull named Johnson that can morph into a variety of guns and is also effective as a torch.

Also out this week is Disney Interactive’s Cars 2: The Video Game for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP, Wii, DS, and PC. The game took its inspiration from the Cars 2 film–due out on Friday–and has players zipping and zooming around exotic destinations across the world.

Lastly, gamers looking to play the season finale of Telltale Games’ Back to the Future adventure game series can grab the fifth episode–OUTATIME–this Thursday for the PC and Mac. Further, gamers who pick up the final episode can expect to hear the voice of actor Michael J. Fox, who played Marty McFly in the Back to the Future.
