Kicking off the first-ever Electronic Entertainment Expo ( E3 1995 ) Sony was preparing the official North American launch of their first video game console PlayStation. Sony gave their keynote speech about the pending collapse of the 16-bit video game platform due to its processing limitations. Sony was about to show the world they were serious about the interactive gaming business. The highlights of this presentation was the offical September 9, 1995 launch date and the $299 price tag for Sony PlayStation.
