Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon revealed on Twitter earlier this week what the first DLC for the new game would include. It’ll pack in all seven “klassic” character skins (for Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, Ermac, Mileena, Jade, and Kitana) and three “klassic” fatalities (for Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Reptile) that were available as pre-order bonuses.
As you could previously only get one of the costumes (unless you decided to go wild and pre-order it at all participating retailers), an eBay market emerged for them. Some went for a few bucks while other auctions went for far more — Reptile, in particular, seemed to be the most desired of the bunch, with a number of codes going for almost $100. As it turns out, the DLC is worth far less — NetherRealm Studios will be selling all of it for just $4.99 (400 Microsoft Points).
The Xbox 360 version of Reptile’s costume was the biggest seller, but there were some listings for the PS3 version that sold for $60 or more. Given that the PlayStation Store has been down since April 20, one day after Mortal Kombat was released, it’s doubtful that any of the eBay buyers of the PS3 DLC have even been able to download the content yet.
