Summer Blockbuster Movie Games of 2011

Summer is fast approaching — you can feel it coming with the upcoming deluge of big crowdpleasing movies full of budget overflow and special effects. As we prepare to beat the heat with a tub of popcorn and some mindless escapism at the theater, game developers are hard at work putting the finishing touches on their licensed efforts, bringing some of that spectacle to home consoles. Licensed games don’t have the best reputation (actually, they may be tied with preteen girl games for the worst reputation) but we’ve seen more effort in recent years to make these games worthwhile.

So to help you navigate your film-inspired gaming this summer, we’ve compiled a list of this year’s promising summer releases (in chronological order), and the movies that love them.
