Realistically it doesn’t come as a major surprise that the DS was able to outsell the 3DS in March. With a fairly mediocre launch lineup, a $250 price tag, and only a week of availability, plus the release of Pokemon Black and White earlier in the month going in favor of the DS, it makes sense. Still, it’s incredible that even with the 3DS’ impending launch the DS was able to sell better than any other platform. The Wii didn’t fair nearly as well, and that might be part of the reason it could see a price drop next month followed by Nintendo announcing a new console in June.
