The NGP has a tough enough road ahead of it, and if it turns out that the new portable can’t be released in 2011 around most of the world, that would be a significant detriment to its ability to outsell the 3DS. And as noted in today’s news story about the potential delay (as a result of production problems stemming from last month’s earthquake in Japan), the NGP will be competing with not only the 3DS, but also the iPod Touch and iPad, the latter of which might see its third iteration released around the time the NGP makes it out in North America.
