DICE’s latest series entry gets a release date according to publisher’s delivery platform; no official word yet.

DICE’s Battlefield 3–the first core entry in the series since 2005–was announced in February with a vague “fall 2011” release window. Now, according to Electronic Arts’ online store, gamers eager for some more shooter action have a definite date to circle on their calendars.

According to a screenshot captured by
Computer and Videogames of the French version of EA’s Download Manager, Battlefield 3 will see release on Wednesday, November 2, 2011.

North American games often release on Tuesdays and later in the week in other regions, which casts some doubt on the purported date. As of press time, Electronic Arts has not responded to GameSpot’s request for comment or clarification.

As for the game, Battlefield 3 will sport both a single-player campaign and an online component, which can be played with up to 64 players (for the PC version only). Further, Battlefield 3 will support co-op play for its campaign and will let gamers pilot jets and go prone.

When Battlefield 3 launches this fall gamers will be able to pick up a $60 Limited Edition, which includes the Back to Karkand map pack. For the latest on the game, check out the newest Fault Line trailer (embedded below), as well as GameSpot’s latest coverage of Battlefield 3.
