It’s strange how Angry Birds gets lumped in with the really cheap, disposable games that are on the iOS App Store. The game actually offers a lot of content and has received quite a few free updates. Rovio’s Peter Vesterbacka has a valid point when he says that those who produce traditional retail games might have reason to be worried — more and more people are opting to play cheap games they can get for less than $1. Even if they don’t offer the same kind of value as a $60 retail game, there’s nothing stopping people from opting for 10 games at $1 and getting a good number of hours’ worth of entertainment instead of picking up a full-priced retail game.
