As with Darksiders and Homefront, THQ is going full speed ahead in trying to make the newly-announced Insane a major franchise. THQ and Volition have confirmed that the upcoming series will in fact be a trilogy.
Director Guillermo del Toro, who will serve as Insane’s external creative director isn’t sparing the hyperbole for the new franchise, “With this new series of video games, I want to take players to a place they have never seen before, where every single action makes them question their own senses of morality and reality.”
In keeping with THQ’s recent approach, Insane looks to be a multimedia project. The publisher will be retaining the intellectual property rights, while del Toro maintains the rights to associated “filmed entertainment” projects.
