Behind the Music of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood

Listen to select compositions from the AC: Brotherhood soundtrack while learning about the Dane behind the Hitman and Assassin’s Creed soundtracks.

Ever since the first game was released three short years ago, the music of the Assassin’s Creed series has been one of its more unusual and compelling features. The rich sense of time and place in the games as well as their intriguing futuristic aspects have been combined aurally with a slickly produced mix of period and ethnic instruments, modern electronic elements, vocals, and much more to create a fascinating signature sound. Though far more contemporary than one might expect, that style — and composer Jesper Kyd’s ability to infuse the experiences with emotion, angst, mysticism, and plenty of adrenalin — has become deeply connected to the playing experience.
