Sunday, November 21st was the twentieth anniversary of the Super Famicom, the Japanese predecessor to the Super Nintendo. This means that Super Mario World, one of two launch titles, is also 20 years old. To commemorate the occasion, Japanese gaming blog Inside Games looked at the official play statistics from Nintendo for Super Mario World on the Wii’s Virtual Console. The numbers are impressive.

According to the report, Japanese gamers have played Super Mario World 1,360,629 times for a total of 1,066,109 hours. That’s over 121 years of playtime in just under four years on the digital marketplace. Per user, that breaks down to 13.59 times and 10 hours, 40 minutes.
