While Chair Entertainment — the Epic-owned developer of last year’s popular XBLA title Shadow Complex — is currently tasked with making Epic’s Infinity Blade for the iPad and iPhone, they’re also already looking forward to a possible Shadow Complex sequel…and it sounds like they have a lot of inspiration for where to take the series next.
“We love Shadow Complex and we have lots of ideas for the future of Shadow Complex, but that’s all we can say right now,” said Chair’s Donald Mustard to Eurogamer. “We’d love to make another one. We’ve got sweet ideas for more stuff but right now everyone is completely focused on getting Infinity Blade out the door.”
The fact that Mustard said they’d “love” to make another one suggests it’s not quite yet a forgone conclusion that they will, but it sure sounds promising. For those who never got around to it, Shadow Complex was a side-scrolling action/adventure game for Xbox Live Arcade that was very deliberately designed in the style of classic 2D Metroid games. It was pretty much universally well-received upon release last year (we gave it a solid B), so the announcement of a sequel would certainly be welcomed news.
