When it comes to the game Columns, I can admit that I am really in love with the game series. I remember play the original columns on the Sega Master System. Others had Tetris, and I think my family and I may have owned a copy of it as well, but the earliest match game I can remember playing would be Columns. In fact, before Sega Ages offered us here at thedailygamepad.com a copy of Columns 2: Voyage through Time. I didn’t even know a Columns 2 existed, but you better be sure I was more than happy to cover the game when it was offered to me for coverage. The Sega Ages games have become some of my favorite games to cover, because of their attention to detail and preserving the essence of the games. Before I go further into my review I’d like to thank both the developer M2 and publisher Sega for providing us with a free review copy of the game.
Sega Ages does it again by bringing Columns 2 to their game compilation.
Columns 2: The Voyage Through Time is the second game in the Columns series. It originally released to Arcade and Sega Saturn, but has now with the help of Sega Ages been brought to the Nintendo Switch.
The game increases in difficulty and has really good music and instead of just matching the jewels/symbols like in the first game. You must matching the flashing jewel before the jewels build up causing you to lose the game.
Like the other games in their series the game has a really good and detailed manual, that you must be online to view, but it reminds me of the manuals that we use to get back in the day for games, before they started including in game tutorial and story of the characters into the games.
The game also includes other modes their are three different modes for Columns 2, as well as a online mode. The game even includes the first Columns game.
If you would like to play Column 2: Voyage through Time you can pick the game up on Nintendo eShop for $7.99 USD.
