Layers of Fear came out originally in Feb 15th, 2016. Now comes out its first DLC Inheritance. Which tells the tale of the daughter of the painter from the core game. Layers of Fear: Inheritance expands the plot from Layers of Fear and tells the story of the painter’s daughter, who comes back to her childhood home to face her past. Now this review will not be one of my lower ones, but I hope it does cover what my impressions in the best of what I can with some meat on the bones of my thoughts.

Originally I wrote a article for Layers of fear here. The game itself was not as long as you would expect. It was pretty much left some plot open. The DLC brings you in the after math of the core game. The daughters rouute has some light puzzles and choices you may explore. Giving out that dose of creepiness the original gave you. Personally I am not the kind of person who gets scared easy. But for others It could give some fright to folks with a weak tummy for scary games. The controls match in terms of simply walking around and openning doors with moving your analog or moving your body back or forward, with some decent physics. The puzzles in the game are simply find pieces or bits, and that is all. You do get a small dose of suspense, and some jump scares, as well as trippy physics. Things like teddy bears hopping around.

In Closing:

Inheritance ends a bit on the short side. $4.99 is not a crime of a price. However I was hoping for more to do for that five spot. I would say the game if you never played the original get that one first, and play that through. Then if you love that get this. Otherwise if you are going blind into both I would say I enjoyed the hour worth of content, but felt it could have been a bit longer overall. With two endings. I will leave it to you if you decide to snag the game.
